I have the knowledge, skills and experience to be an effective School Board Trustee for the Tam Union District. I am a current school board trustee in the Mill Valley School District and I have a master's degree in special education and a certificate of educational therapy. I serve on multiple county-wide and local boards and will make student-centered decisions with a racial equity lens, in service to our children and families.
I have passionately served Marin students for 12 years in various roles, including as a school board member, educational non-profit advocate, and leader of school funding efforts. Drawing on this experience, my experience as a mother of four, including two recent Tamalpais High School graduates, and my Master’s in Special Education, I will vigorously advocate for student-centered decision making with a focus on closing opportunity gaps. Building on Tamalpais Union District’s many strengths, I will bring a fresh perspective to the district’s challenges and leverage my vast network of relationships to bring educators, parents, and community leaders together on behalf of students.
During my time as a Mill Valley School District Board member, I served as President and Vice President, and established county-wide relationships through work with non-profits as well as on the Joint Legislative Action and Pension Ad Hoc Committees. Through hands-on roles at SchoolsRule Marin, the Tam High PTSA, The Hannah Project, and the Mill Valley Rotary, I have worked tirelessly for the success of all Marin students.
I have a thorough understanding of school budgets and the financial pressures districts face, having served on the Mill Valley School District’s Community Financial Advisory Committee since 2016, as well as leading vital school funding campaigns. I will combine my fiscal acumen and experience, with a student-focused, equity-based lens to ensure that we serve all Tamalpais Union students.
